On the 22.10.2007 I traveled to Nis in Serbia to take part in the bizbuzz event prepared by LC Nis. The topic of workshop was “Internet Marketing and Branding”. I chose it because of very interesting lectures I hoped to participate in and because it was connected with business I run in Poland. Unfortunately this part was (the only) disappointing. It turned out that the official seminar is in Serbian Sad

and only little lectures were prepared for English-speaking participants. But obviously lectures are not only important during eestec exchange and organizers prepared lot of other very cool stuff.
I visited lots of interesting places: Philip Morris Cigarettes Factory, The City Fortress, The City Center, Concentration Camp, The Skull Tower, Niska Banja and lots of crazy pubs, bars, discotheques and kafanas. The first great task was city rally – simple and popular in eestec way to show participants some parts of the city and tell them some stories. I got it all – lots of fun, a little bit of history and of course – the first prize for the fastest team. Then we went to the cigarettes factory and that was my first time in life in such a place. I would call it “Factory of Death” hehe, but in fact it was very interesting to see how it all works. Nice experience. After that we had lectures in Niska Banja which is a very nice SPA place. We got some radioactive bath over there. At the end of the event we had a little bit more sightseeing. Unfortunately the weather was very bad and we couldn't see as much as it was planned. This means I will have to go back there again. Smile

That day we went to the Concentration Camp and Skull Tower. I found this second place very interesting and I was glad to hear a little bit of Serbian history.
During the whole event we had lots of crazy parties, which was obviously great. Even more great is the fact we went to lots of different places. So we went to the normal club, traditional Serbian Disco Club, some “reach-people” club and my favorite – Kafana. I enjoyed all those parties but my love was Kafana with great great barbecue food and even better drinks (dupla dunja or something like that was great). I had great time during those parties – thank you LC Nis.
We spent one day on some sport activities also. That was called Geek Olympics. We moved a little bit, destroyed some computer stuff and ate some good food and sang few songs. All that made us a happy people.
At the end few words about my host. I was standing in private house with Serbian family. That was great. My host – Bojan has great family and I enjoyed living with them. Especially meals and home made Rakija. Thanks for all that to Bojan and LC Nis.
